If the bearings fail, the machine gets louder upon the spin cycle and you will think an aero plane is about to take off! This is a serious issue which should not be ignored.
So how can fix the bearings? Calling the repairman will probably cost you more than the price of the washer, so it is best to try and sort it out yourself. You may be advised to replace the large plastic exterior tub, whereas the bearings and the seal are all that is needed to be replaced.
